You need to be strong and secure in who you are to live for Jesus and not be bothered with how people treat you.

How you become strong and secure is to put on Christ. Put on His death, put on His resurrection.

Peter is showing us that we are going to suffer if we do what is right.

Jesus is the great example of this.

Why can’t we have a nice quiet life and not suffer?

There’s a simple answer that we will look at today: it’s not possible to have a nice quiet life in this world.

Sin makes marriage hard. Jesus has another way to end competition, provide security, and help men and women in marriage.

Slaves, domestics, bottom feeder workers, have the power to change the world.

The power is in this: you serve Jesus first, then your master, by the will of God.

We as Christians tell the truth about Jesus, that He died for our sins and rose again from the dead. He lives in me by His Holy Spirit. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and no man comes to the Father except through Him.

People deny that. They make Christianity foolish. How do we prove Jesus is true?

It’s a fabulous privilege to be in Christ. Jesus is precious beyond our knowledge.

With that fabulous privilege comes conflict. Peace, joy, righteousness, and war. You have to fight.

Peter talks about the privilege and favour and blessing of being in Christ.

And he begins to give us a foretaste why we need to keep this privilege fresh in our minds, because being in Christ is a disadvantage in this world.There are people who don’t like Christ. They won’t like you, either.

A very common mistake that Christians make is to depend on themselves to follow Jesus. “Jesus saved me, now I have to follow Him. I have to prove myself worthy. I’m on probation.”

The blood of Jesus is precious.

We have a problem imagining that. Why is blood precious?
